Robert Day has an extensive knowledge of Japan and it’s unique architecture. Robert used to live and work in Japan as an architect and has completed a number of projects in Japan since establishing Robert Day Architects in 1990. The most recent project being the refurbishment of a ski lodge in Hakuba, Nagano Prefecture.
Robert has utilised his extensive knowledge of Japan to offer guided architecture tours of Japan. Robert has been conducting his Japan Architecture Tours twice yearly since April 2008.
Robert’s Japan Architecture Tours are not your average architecture tour simply looking at buildings. He offers the opportunity to meet with Japanese architects, to visit a Japanese house under construction, to visit architecture and art exhibitions, to visit famous historic Japanese buildings and to see some of the finest examples of contemporary architecture in the world, particularly the architecture of Tokyo.
As well as this, Robert’s Japan Architecture Tours offer unique cultural experiences too. These might be the opportunity to meet with Japanese friends and have a meal together, to participate in a traditional Japanese Tea Ceremony or to visit places that the average tourist might not be aware of.
